Chief Leatherlips' Monument on Riverside Drive in Dublin

Wyandot Bill Moose and his family walked from the Wyandot settlement at Upper Sandusky to Delaware County near the current Columbus Zoo to pay tribute to Wyandot Chief Shateyaronyah commonly known as Chief Leatherlips who was executed near where the Leatherlips Monument is located just south of the zoo.  The annual pilgrimage was during the running of the sap in the maple trees so the Wyandots camped and made maple syrup and sugar before returning home.

Following the death of his parents, Bill Moose traveled with the Sells Brothers-Floto Circus for 9 years and became acquainted with Buffalo Bill, Annie Oakley, and Frank Butler who were also with the circus for a time.

After the circus, Bill retired to central Ohio and became known as the Last of the Wyandots
