Civil War School Day

Afternoon sessions learning about a cannon before it is fired.

764 students plus teachers, aids and parents spent 2 hours learning about the Civil War on Sunbury Village Square and around the Myers Inn Museum.

Renee Brehm as Mrs Frambes whose husband, Col. Frambes, built the Sunbury Institute (known as the Town Hall)

Other stations included the Infantry with John Sheck and Bob Sauder
Dana Russell a British Observer and Wesley Russell his servant from India
Rick Helwig as the Blacksmith

Civil War School Day is put on by the Big Walnut Area Historical Society with Rich Helwig as event Chairperson.  Other on the committee were Damon Boawer and Polly Horn.  Alice Chapan, Connie Ackerman and Eva Jane Williams provided food for the presenters and guides
