Fairs, Circuses and Pumpkin Shows from the
Memory of Brent Carson

Brent Carson will speak to the Big Walnut Area Historical Society at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, about Fairs and Circuses and Pumpkin Shows in the area. Carson not only remembers attending them, he actually worked for a circus at one time.  He remembers seeing the Ringling Brothers Circus in Columbus. 

Carson is a graduate of Delaware Hayes High School and retired teacher from the same system.  As President of the Delaware County Historical Society, he puts on historical programs for schools and groups. 

With Hayes and Ohio Wesleyan students he has produced dvds.  Beside Our Springs and Streams is stories about the Native Americans and early settlers in Delaware County.    In Friday Night in the Downtown,  he interviews residents  who lived or worked in downtown Delaware from 1925-1975. 

Big Walnut Area Historical Society meeting are open free to the public.  There is a short business meeting prior to the program.  The meetings are held in the Myers Inn Museum Meeting Room facing Sunbury Village Square.
